Cancer is now the Number One killer disease in the country, claiming more than 4000 lives a year or accounting for 27% of total deaths. Hence, Singapore Cancer Society is towards increasing cancer awareness through our education programmes and screening services.
Most cancers are curable, if detected EARLY. Through our public education on cancer prevention and importance of screening, Singapore Cancer Society hope that the majority of the population will be more enlightened and be encouraged to go for screening.

BREAST CANCER is the most common cancer among women in Singapore, with more than 1000 women being diagnosed with the disease annually. Women who are in high risk groups should see a doctor for advice and may need to go for screening earlier and more frequently,
COLORECTAL CANCER is the 2nd most common cancer among Singapore men and women, Combined together, it is the number one cancer here. 90% of colorectal cancers occur in persons aged 50 and above. Screening will help to detect polyps or the cancer early.
